Local & Lovely

Just in case you need more reasons to visit our fabulous part of the world...

We are on Djaara Country - a part of the world that has sustained people for millennia. There has been disruption and tragedy, but out of pain comes new learning. Our local food economy is getting stronger. We are part of a vibrant network of small-scale producers, farmers, bakers, makers and artists. We'd love to share our craft, and our stories with you.

Fabulous Food

Bar Midland

With just 16 seats and a menu sourced entirely from Victoria, Bar Midland is something truly special. You can order à la carte - but honestly, you’re in expert hands with Alex and Loudon. Trust their instincts, sit back, and enjoy the journey. And yes, we’re honoured to say, they use Goodness Flour.

Gornelly's

Gornelly’s is the all-day café and wine bar we always hoped would open in Castlemaine - and then one day, it did! The menu is small, thoughtful, seasonal, and just adventurous enough to keep things interesting. The wine list is spot-on, the coffee’s great, and if you’re lucky, you might even catch some live music.

Mulberry’s Deli & Tog’s Cafe

We chose to live in this part of the world because we found a town with an independent bookseller, coffee as good as Melbourne’s, and a truly fabulous deli. Mulberry’s Delicatessen and Tog’s Café have been part of our lives since the day we arrived - and we feel incredibly lucky to have them.
