It has been carefully stored in our freezer - no chemicals used in the growing, harvesting or storage of the grain, so this is the safest way to ensure it stays fresh and weevil free.
Australian grown, certified chemical free Buckwheat. It's exciting to have Australian grown Buckwheat. It mills beautifully, tastes and smells lovely - not that sharp grassy bitterness from stale flour. Naturally gluten-free.
From Blinis in Russia to Soba Noodles in Japan, to galettes in France and Kuttu Pakoras in India, buckwheat is a global village child to be loved and shared. It’s not a member of the grass family, but in fact belongs to the same family as rhubarb and sorrel. A wonderfully adaptable, gluten-free grain which is rich in trace minerals and high in protein, iron, zinc, B vitamins and selenium.
