Purple and full of goodness.
Grown by The Grain Family - Tonia, Gareth and Ida in Tasmania. We’re so excited about this Purple Wheat. It doesn’t just look good. It has a lovely, slightly sweet flavour and mills to a fine flour with delightful purple speckles.
The beautiful purple tones are due to anthocyanin, an antioxidant of the flavonoid family which may help in reducing inflammation.
Makes a gorgeous pastry - try it in a free-form apple or pear tart where the colour combination will really shine. Also really lovely added to bread for both flavour and texture.
